Star & Stripes:
Symbols of Texas History
“Star & Stripes – Symbols of Texas History” was a landmark exhibit of rare Texas flags and a dinner honoring President George W. Bush at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. in 2003. Ward & Ames suggested the event as a mid-term fundraiser to kick off the centennial of the Texas State Society of Washington, D.C. It was organized with the Center for American History at the University of Texas/Austin, the Texas State Library and Arches Commission, the Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry/Austin, the Texas Confederate Museum, division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Fort Davis historical Site and the National Museum of the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C.
