Houston Methodist Foundation “Rendezvous Anew” Event 2023

On Thursday November 9, 2023, the Houston Methodist Foundation held their “Rendezvous Anew” event in the Hilton Americas Hotel 4th floor ballroom. Themed and produced by Ward & Ames, the event was attended by 1800 guests and raised $11.3 million dollars. Due to that large an attendance factor, the VIP reception was held in the hotel’s entire second floor ballroom for nearly 900 guests. Guests enjoyed culinary excellence created by Hilton Executive Chef Ruffy Sulaiman and Celebrity Guest Chef Hugo Ortega. The hugely successful event featured dramatic video presentations and special effects & lighting designed by Ward & Ames.

Houston Methodist Donor Wall Reveal

On April 12, 2022, the Houston Methodist Foundation hosted a reception commemorating the conclusion of an astronomically successful capital campaign. The event began outside on the covered Walter Tower Terrace, then transitioned to the Bush Atrium inside the hospital’s Walter Tower. Ward & Ames presented a dramatic reveal of the donor wall in the Bush Atrium featuring experiential video projection-mapping above a contiguous LED video wall, with dramatic lighting and music, as hydraulic towers released 130 feet of theatrical drape revealing the names engraved in the wall.

The 80th anniversary of MD Anderson Cancer Center was held Thursday March 24th, 2022, at the Toyota Center. The concert event was emceed by John Stamos and featured performances by Christopher Cross, The Beach Boys, The Commodores, Todd Rundgren and Generation Radio. Words of testimony for the great and caring work MD Anderson Cancer Center provides were made by grateful patient Jeffrey Foskett. Remarks were made by Dr. Peter Pisters and the event raised $10.7 million dollars. Ward & Ames began planning this milestone event 1/9/20, before the pandemic, and continued its management and production until fruition 3/24/22. Careful lead management by Tammy Davis and her Ward & Ames team enabled the massive project to come in under budget by 6 figures… just as we did for their 75th anniversary.

Houston Methodist Centennial Employee Celebration

Ward & Ames produced the Houston Methodist Healthcare Centennial Employee Event Saturday, April 6, 2019 at NRG stadium. Attended by 33,000 Houston Methodist employees and their families, it featured food and beverage concessions as well as family games placed on all the concourses. After remarks from Houston Methodist CEO Dr. Mark Boom, performances were given by the entire cast of Sesame Street live followed the multi Grammy Award winning Pop/Rock performing artist Imagine Dragons.

Centennial Celebration for Houston Methodist Healthcare

The Centennial Celebration for Houston Methodist Healthcare, commemorating 100 years of exemplary service, took place on the field at Minute Maid Park on November 14th 2019. Ward & Ames produced the record setting event that included synchronized dinner service for 2300 guests. Dubbed “Rendezvous of the Century” by Nancy Ames, this stellar event, chaired by Ann & John Bookout, featured CBS Sports Jim Nantz, and The Houston Symphony Orchestra. Centennial tributes were given to the honorees representing Faith, Physician, Community, Leadership, and Philanthropy. The finale’ featured “Hamilton’s” Leslie Odom Jr. with fireworks and a large, multi-denominational gospel choir.

Mahindra

Mahindra USA held annual Regional Dealers meetings for Mahindra USA and Mahindra Canada in Houston in January 2020 with tandem events produced by Ward & Ames. Following their morning business sessions at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston, the dealers toured the Mahindra facility. Attendees also experienced a Taste of Texas culture and music while in Houston.

The American Heart Association’s annual Heart Ball took place Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the Hilton Americas Ballroom. Chaired by Beverly & Jim Postl, it was a record-breaking fundraiser for AHA. Community and Honoree videos were presented along with entertainment from Theater Under The Stars’ Humphrey’s School and The Manhattan Band.

Memorial Hermann Gala 2019

The annual Memorial Hermann Foundation Circle of Life Gala was held May 4, 2019. Dubbed “Above & Beyond” by Nancy Ames, it was chaired by Jo Lynn & Greg Falgout and Lisa & Jerry Simon who raised a record $8.5 million for the Foundation. Produced by Ward & Ames, we utilized Jumbo LED video screens featuring a dramatic experiential impact video to start the evening off. Following dinner, 76’ of the wide LED video screen opened to reveal the 40 member Simply Irresistible Show/Dance band that kept the party going past midnight.

This year’s annualevent celebrated the 70 year history of events for the University of St. Thomas and featured stirring herald trumpets, colorful Mardi Gras costuming & décor, with a performance by Pop/R&B legend Gladys Knight.

One America Appeal

One America Appeal

Ward & Ames designed, produced and directed the One America Appeal concert October 21, 2017, conceived to provide economic assistance for those affected by the Fall 2017 storms in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The event featured all five former US Presidents: Carter, Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama in attendance and a sold out crowd of 12,000 at Reed Arena at Texas A&M University.

Performers included Lady Gaga, Alabama, Lyle Lovett, Lee Greenwood, Sam Moore, Yolanda Adams, Cassadee Pope, the Gatlin Brothers, Robert Earl Keen, The Texas A & M Singing Cadets, The Houston Choir and Martin Guigui Band, among others. The concert and Ward & Ames’ proprietary designed video was simulcast nationwide on You Tube and CNN and ending up raising over $38 million dollarsprogram and were introduced by videos that Ward & Ames produced. This Gala event previewed the museum’s new location and formal opening in the fall of 2017.
